I was contacted by a recruiting firm out of San Francisco by phone, based most likely on a resume I posted on Dice, though they never informed me. It was a strange situation for me as I had never been contacted in such a rash and inconsequential way before. Either way they talked me into interviewing at NetSuite.
I talked to the recruiter, very basic, 15 minutes, she had no idea about half of my qualifications, but knew the key words, and set up the second interview.
The second interview was a disaster, worst experience I have ever had. The woman interviewing me seemed desperate to get to lunch (my interview was scheduled for 11:30 A.M. not my choice), and as such seemed disinterested from the get go. Also, she had a very heavy Russian accent, making it a bit difficult to understand. After getting through preliminary answers she asked me basic Java questions, fair enough, I expected this.
I answered 1 or 2, then she asked me a question where her phrasing had left me confused, and I repeatedly asked her if what I was saying was correct (she APPARENTLY had said overriding (which I do know) but I had heard it as overwriting). Anyway, I admitted I had no idea what overwriting was in relation to overloading and instead of trying to clarify the obvious miscommunication she had the audacity to ask why on earth I couldn't answer her question, like I had been granted the interview just to waste her time.
Needless to say I ended the interview there and had absolutely no intention of ever following up with NetSuite, who sent me a rejection within 30 minutes.
