I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NetApp in Apr 2024
Interview
I had 3 rounds of interviews. 1 recruiter phone screen, 1 HM, and 1 with a panel of 2 internal team members.
The process was a bit disorganized. After every round, I would wait for about 1.5 weeks to hear back from the recruiter and they also provided me with the wrong information about the interviewers of the 3rd round.
- 1st round with the recruiter was pretty straightforward then it went downhill.
- In the 2nd round, the HM spent 20 minutes rambling about his projects and barely took time screen my background but somehow still passed me to the 3rd round.
- In the 3rd round, the first interviewer left me feeling that they lacked professionalism and attentiveness to my responses. We got stuck on a couple of questions mostly because my background wasn't what the role was looking for so my examples didn't quite fit their context. But they rejected my answers in a disrespectful way rather than pointing out the gap. The 2nd interviewer was way better and we quickly drew a conclusion that we were in different fields in 15mins. And I was expecting a rejection letter from that point. I feel like we could have save the time and energy if the HM did a better job at screening my background.

Interview
I have been reached out for 2 different PM roles and both times I was ghosted. At this point, I'm only frustrated with their recruiting team and honestly not enthusiastic about working there at all.
Total of 5 interviews, all remote. Interviews were appropriate and not duplicative in content. A thorough process that also gave me a good cross-section / insights on the people and personalities.
