By far the most tedious, disconnected and unprofessional experience ever.
I applied on one of the job boards, and got a request for an assessment. The Wonderlic assessment. It was tedious and comprised 3 different tests. I faired well and got an interview, but spent nearly 2-4 hours preparing and taking the test.
I was sent an interview calendar and selected the time and date. The email said I could ask questions prior to the interview and I did ask a basic question and got no response. First red flag!
The interviewer was from Australia and I’d point if she knew much about the role or what it entailed. Anyway, the person said I would progress to the next level and asked for a couple of samples. I sent a Thankyou note and the samples. No acknowledgement and zero response, so I sent a follow-up note and again, the same ghosting.
Do you think an interviewee who went above and beyond deserves this treatment? Why make candidates jump through hoops if the company does not respect potential employees. Terrible experience!!
Stop recruiting folks in Australia and elsewhere and focus on the talent and culture in the US. Train your employees to treat candidates well. Stop asking for meaningless assessment tests when your company truly needs training in basics and not the candidates.
