First round was a screening call with a recruiter in the US who was very obviously just reading things out for the benefit of an AI transcript. It made the conversation very stilted and unnatural. I felt like saying “Do I need to be here if you’re just reading out my CV to yourself?!” It was an entirely pointless exercise - if that’s all you’re going to do, just give the CV to the hiring manager!
