I applied online. I interviewed at National Research Foundation
Interview
I applied and only received a call for an interview after a few months. The interview itself started late and was very brief (around 15 minutes), and honestly could have been conducted over a Zoom call instead.
During the interview, both HR and the panel seemed unclear about the next steps if shortlisted, mentioning that they would need to check internally. This gave the impression that the process was not well-coordinated.
What was more concerning was that the role was originally posted as a permanent position, but during the discussion, I was asked if I would be open to a temporary contract under a third-party employment agency, with no associated benefits. This felt misleading and came across as an attempt to downgrade the terms after attracting candidates.
Given these issues, I decided not to proceed further. Unfortunately, there was no follow-up from their side afterward either, which reinforced the lack of professionalism. Overall, it felt like a waste of time.

Question 1
Since this is your first full time job, would you be open to being a temp?
I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at National Research Foundation (Nairobi) in Mar 2023
Interview
Overall, it was ok. Wait time was long. Shortlisting seemed fair. Individual interview was relatively fine. They can do better. Has young energetic recruiters. Go prepared with details relating to the company and position shortlisted for, such as leadership, history, skills, qualifications and so on.
