I was happy at the swiftness contact was made following my application. The HR manager was amenable in his emails and I was awarded an interview within 24hrs of applying.
Due to covid restrictions, the interview was held remotely using an unrecognisable platform (GoToMeeting) and candidates were instructed to research the company online.
Meeting was held with the chairman (who was 10 mins late) and the CEO (who actually picked his nose whilst we waited)
Conversation was stilted as it would appear that I was awarded an interview because I have a South Asian family name but am in fact Afro-Caribbean... both men appeared to be shocked by this fact and the interview swiftly became superficial.
Whilst scheduled to last 1hr, the interview in fact lasted 10mins excluding the waiting time for the Chairman.
Post interview, contact was made with HR to thank them for their time and ask next steps. This remained unanswered / unacknowledged for 3wks. A subsequent email was sent to ask for an update on the decision - I have now been waiting 3mths for a reply!
I would suggest that if the candidate is not of Asian extraction - don't bother applying!! This company is solely about employing Asian staff and contravenes laws relating to discrimination!
I could say I'm glad I didn't get the position as it would have been an uncomfortable working environment - but my race precludes me from ever working there!!
I wish I knew who to report them to!
