I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at NYSL Promotions (Fairfield, NJ) in Feb 2016

      Interview

Very unprofessional. Don't waste your time here unless you want to be involved with a pyramid scheme. There were a lot of snappy dressed people running in and out of offices and closing doors. Once you're in the office you'll notice that there's no computer on the desk. It's all very smoke and mirrors/ bait and switch. If you are called for an interview ask the person on the phone detailed questions about the company and what they do. Chances are you will not get any direct answer to your questions.

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at NYSL Promotions

      Interview

My first interview was with Joe the so called president of the "company". The interview lasted about five minutes. I was under the impression the marketing would be done in the building. Joe was extremely vague and asked very simple questions. I was set up with a second interview. Joe said the second interview went over daily operations and salary. I was excited until the second interview was me and two other adults traveling down the street to a home depot where employees from nysl promotions informed us about daily operations. I should have seen that as a big red flag. What place makes u travel on a second interview away from the building? The lady I was paired up with discussed what they do in the home depot, which is go up to random people and ask if they are interested in new cabinets and such. If a person is interested you set up an appointed. Every person who actually goes on their appointment, you receive sixty dollars . Everything is based on commission. The way you move up from that entry position is making 20-30 appointments. The next step is learning about payroll, interviewing, and such. Every step higher you place your commission grows because you start taking a percentage of what the person below you makes. Once you reach the top as a "manager", she said Joe gives u a start up building where you can start doing your own promotions, which he pays only up to 3 months rent then its all on you. The entire way she explained everything was basically a pyramid scheme. I felt like she was selling me on how I needed this because it prepared me to have my own marketing firm when I don't even want one. The point I thought of this job was actually dealing with clients and working on campaigns not walking up to random people and magically getting my own building somewhere just to do the same operations Joe does, which is scam people. Seriously, don't waste your time.

Thank you for your feedback in regards to your experience with NYSL Promotions. Our preliminary interview is meant to be brief in order to explain the ins and outs of the business as well as provide time for any and every question the applicant may have. We have a very specific process for moving up in the company so that our employees are prepared for the increased responsibility, and we want to be certain a new hire understands that process. We do not require payments from our employees at any time, which is why we are not a pyramid scheme. We make our profits off of the fees paid to us by our clients for our services. We do take second round interviews off site for their interview because we feel it is important that a candidate has a full understanding of what we do and the opportunities we offer, before bringing them on board. Our team members work for us because they are passionate about the opportunities offered with NYSL promotions. We do Direct Marketing as it is the most effective and track-able form of marketing available in our industry. We proudly represent a Fortune 500 home improvement company as well as Verizon, another Fortune 500 company. It is because of our highly effective methods that we are able to work with such large brands. Thank you again for your feedback.
