      Executive Assistant Interview

      18 Jun 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

      I interviewed at NYGC

      Interview

Do not waste your time. I happened to do internal work for this company at my previous position, which is what landed me an interview. The company moved me forward quickly through each step in the interview process (zoom interview with HR, then required the submission of a 7 page writing sample, then in person interview with 2 managers, then video interview with the 3rd manager) They requested reference checks from me. All of my references confirmed to me that they gave me glowing reviews. NYGC then let 6 weeks go by without communicating if I got the job or not, only to say the role went to someone else as they were scheduled to meet with other candidates AFTER THEY EXTENDED A REFERENCE CHECK TO ME BEFORE COMPLETING INTERVIEWS WITH ALL THEIR CANDIDATES. Extremely disrespectful to the nearly 2 month process I committed to with this company. It is very simple: if you are scheduled to meet with other candidates, do not extend reference checks until you have your finalists. Making job candidates wait weeks after you put them through a rigorous interview process and extend a reference check is unacceptable.

      Question 1

They even knew that I had managed a calendar for one of their collegeaues previously, stating that their calendars were easier to work with. Still rejected. Stop wasting job candidates' time.

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at NYGC (New York, NY) in Sept 2021

      Interview

The interview process can be long, there was a large amount of time between the first call and eventual in person interview, a few months to be exact. I believe they have sped up the process since then but dont be discouraged if you don't hear back right away.
