      Data Performance Engineer Interview

      4 Oct 2024
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NOV in Sept 2024

      Interview

The process is super efficient, even my brain couldn't comprehend I got the job this fast! After job application submitted, HR called me right after the deadline passed. She asked my availability for a 15 mins call with her, she scheduled the call on the next day. On this first encounter, she explained the job requirements & specifications, brief summary of the benefits, and also the working condition. She asked few general questions: my brief experience, why I want to join this position in NOV, what is my expected salary, also when is my readiness to work. Few days later she called again mentioning the manager wanted to speak with me, so she scheduled the 1st interview (literally the meeting's title), booked for 1 hour conversation. 1st interview was only a week apart from HR call, it only through ms.teams and went for 20mins with just 1 person. It wasn't like an interview I think, more like a casual conversation. He asked my experience summary, he made sure that I live in the same city with the job location, then asked if I am a fast learner, he asked whether my previous role more to engineering or analysis side because he needed someone who does more in analytical, why I quit my previous job, and he told me about a day as a data performance engineer in NOV, then he gave me chance to ask. At the end of the conversation, he said it frankly he was interested with my presentation, told me that we'll have a another conversation in the next 1-2 weeks. Right after 2 weeks, HR reached out again to confirm my availability for the 2nd interview, she scheduled a week after that with literally the same interviewer. The 2nd meeting was not an interview, the only question he asked is "how are you? Are you still interested with the job?" Then he mentioned the rough estimation salary and also working condition (3 days at office and 2 days hybrid) and told me that I dont have to answer him that time, he gave me 24 hrs to think and discuss with my husband. I accepted the verbal offer on the next day, and day after that I got busy with the emails and calls to complete my documents. Joined the team, just 3 weeks after the 2nd interview, and they gave higher than my expected salary.
