      Occupational Health Interview

      10 Oct 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NHS in Oct 2016

      Interview

Applied onlline via NHS jobs website. Also interviews are arranged via NHS jobs website now - they send you a notification you've been invited, you have to log in & book yourself in for the interview. The interview itself was in the department, panel-style with 3 staff asking questions - one being the head of dept, one being a senior specialist and the third being the would-be supervisor / line manager for the successful candidate.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      1. Why did you decide to become a [nurse/physio] 2. What do you think is your greatest strength as a [nurse/physio] 3. Likewise what is your biggest weakness & what are you doing about it? Plus 3-4 more questions, mostly quite technical / specific questions about theory & practice. Some of these were quite tough,, designed to test your knowledge of the job, how you handle more difficult situations & ethical dilemmas - but the sort of stuff you come across fairly regularly, so anyone with a good level of competence should get the correct answer. total interview time about 30 minutes Competency-based, so it's all about scoring points. If you've got about 4-5 minutes per question, use the time available - give your answer, expand on it, throw in anything relevant about ethics, professional standards, your personal values, real-life examples etc. I didn't get the job, but apparently there was only 1 point in it :s
