Applied on a 3rd party job site. Got a call 1 month later. HR arranged for F2F interview one week later at their Fusionopolis office with hiring manager and his boss.
Went for the interview, HR put me in a room that someone booked for a meeting so a staff came in and was awkward.
Interviewers were late like what someone mentioned here. Seems strange as this is a Japanese company they should have the culture of timeliness.
Interviewers were remarking about how candidates applying for this role did not understand the purpose of the job or the centre. (Why would you tell me this at the beginning of the interview? Almost condescending lacking etiquette being unable to maintain neutrality to candidate.)
It was much later on that I realised they don't even seem to have a clear understanding of what it is and differ in explanation from the other NEC Innovation Centre (that is in NZ). All companies have standards to uphold and I do not see how the centre's purpose in NZ is vastly different from SG as described by the interviewers.
Overall I sense that since the centre has not been inaugurated so there is nothing concrete for even the NEC staff to understand what it is.
