Interview
Terrible interview process. Incredibly lengthy up front questionnaires with little to no thought as to how the questions relate to the role they're hiring for. Probably the slowest process I've experienced.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Explanations of products you've worked on, your impact, your relationship with stakeholders - typically questions that require explanation of the nuance involved.
Thanks for the review - sorry you feel this way. We give a lot of thought to making the process as good as possible for applicants, clearly we didn't get it right for you.
We tried to make clear in the application (and especially for the candidates who got to interview) that this was a critical role for us and that we would be hiring carefully and that may manifest as slow – and asked candidates if they were OK with that or if there were time pressures we should be aware of.
Similarly, we have had a lot of problems with 100s of bot/AI/low quality applications for roles recently and deliberately asked more upfront questions than usual, hoping it would help separate out the stronger human candidates and inform subsequent interviews. We'll review this approach before we open any future roles.
Once again apologies for the negative experience. Please feel free to reach out to your interviewer for further feedback if you'd like it.

Interview
As a homework task I did a product preview page. Backend in python and frontend in React. Both pretty good specified. Also I had an access into example app to see how it should look.

Question 1
They were asking about details of my practical task and what would changes would I do in case the page is slow.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Much Better Adventures (London, England) in Jan 2015
Interview
I got in touch via the live chat on the site and asked if any roles were currently open. They were, and I then sent my CV and a cover letter explaining why I'd be great for the Expansion Team role.
The next day I had a Skype interview with one of the Founders. This was very informal and more about me as an individual: my interests, hobbies, and job experience. Lasted less than 30 minutes.
After this I was invited for a face-to-face interview in London with the CEO and a Co-Founder. No suit required!
In preparation for the interview I was asked to find a range of small scale independent adventure companies in Europe that I thought would be great additions to the site.
In the interview I then presented these companies + experiences, and took questions from the CEO and Co-Founder about why I'd chosen them. We then moved on to a more open discussion of why I wanted the role, what I liked about the company, and why I'd be a great fit in the role.
The following day I was offered the job, and I started a week later.
