I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Momentus (San Jose, CA) in Mar 2021
Interview
The overall interview process at Momentus Space was enjoyable. It did occur during Covid, so it may be different than future Interviews.
Overall there were 4 parts to the interview:
First part was talking to the recruiter to talk about what Momentus was looking for and if I am a good fit.
Second part was talking to the Manager of the team about the role. It was 20 minutes about who I am and why i chose to apply to Momentus. The last 10 minutes was technical questions about how to upload a bootloader using canbus, SPI protocol, and how I would design a certain code module(cant remember the circumstance).
Part 3 was a coding interview. Unlike other companies that give you an hour to code, this was a 2 hour interview. The first hour was reviewing someone else's github and writing notes on it. The second hour was telling the Manager what I would do to fix it. Overall, did not write code but talked about how i can make the code more modular for the future.
Last part was 4 hours of virtual onsite. Each person got 30 minutes, and some were with 2 people so it was an hour long conversation with them. They asked me technical questions as well as personal questions. It was not a bad experience at all. It made me want the job even more seeing how friendly everyone was/are, and how they learned so much while being at Momentus.

Question 1
If you do not need to send data to an SPI module, how many wires would need to be connected? You only care about receiving data.
