      Software Development Engineer (SDE) Interview

      29 Apr 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Mobikwik in Apr 2021

      Interview

I had applied for the position of sde-1 through a referral. Received a mail for a one-on-one interview on 26th April, the interview was supposed to happen the next day i.e. 27th but it got postponed by one more day. Right off the bat, when the interview started (on google meet) there was a lot of background noise from the interviewer's side which was very distracting and the noised persisted throughout the interview. The interviewer sounded like he was least interested in conducting the interview. Besides the two questions related to arrays I've written below, he asked a very trivial "logical" question which was: "You have 4 balls - 2 Blue and 2 Green and 2 Bowls, your goal is to put 1 blue ball in 1 bowl and 1 green ball in another, without looking at them" I thought about it for around 5 minutes and after that he gave me a hint that you can break them into halves, so I asked him how would I break a ball into two halves? After which he changed the problem statement from balls to capsules. Fair enough. After the hint, I still couldn't solve the question because now I just have 8 capsules instead of 4 to begin with, how did that help our situation? The interview ended on a very abrupt note when I told him that I couldn't solve this question.
