I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Minnesota Philanthropy Partners (Saint Paul, MN) in Jul 2016
Interview
First interview was over the phone with a team member and an HR rep: it lasted a little over an hour, it was professional yet warm, thorough, and were appreciative of my interest in and knowledge of the organization. The second interview was onsite with the staff panel (6) including the team member that I spoke with, minus the HR rep. Second interview: they were unorganized, sort of cold, and incredibly proud of themselves. After introductions, the interview turned into the standard question/answer sort of thing only, the panel had zero knowledge of my experience because no one (other than the person I had spoken to) had looked at my resume before I entered the room. The Executive Director confessed to this with a sort of pride while I was sitting there in front of them. The second interview was just a colder version of the first - with the same questions - which threw me off because I was ready to talk about the role. Additionally, by some effort to exert power, the ED crossed his arms a stared out the window nearly 100% of the time that I was talking. To sum it up: GiveMN wants to offer this 'new' way of giving but their interview style was poor, unoriginal, unprepared, and 100% off-putting. At the very least maybe the next time that smug ED (Jake Blumberg) interviews someone, he should consider throwing out his subscription to White Businessman for something that resembles the kinder side of human interaction and decency. I'm so thankful that his voice, and many voices like his, are what's leading such organizations today.

I applied online. I interviewed at Minnesota Philanthropy Partners (Saint Paul, MN)
Interview
I submitted my resume online through their form. It was similar to other sites with online submissions. I also followed up with a printer version to there person to whom this position reported. I also had an information interview with a staff member who suggested I submit my resume for that position. I was told, however, that they were fairly far along in the interviewing process so I wouldn't be considered for that position at this time.
