This was by far the most bizarre and unprofessional interview, I've ever been a part of.
I waited over an hour to actually talk to someone and at some point I even the interviewers eating lunch while they had people waiting for an interview. You can clearly tell they were looking at the resume for the first time and it was so rushed, I feel like anytime I tried to talk I was cut off before I was done. The way they handle interviews definitely needs to change, because if you haven't even screened the applicant, don't make them wait hours, when you can just schedule a phone interview as a first step. You're there to interview an applicant, not criticize their experience. I feel that they were looking for things to judge me on, for example there was a software I have experience in and they continued to tell me, " I don't know, I've never heard of it before and we just don't know." You could easily google it, if you haven't heard of it before, not point it out to me as if I was lying. Lastly, they made me feel as if my experience wasn't "right." This company focuses alot on recruiting within the community, whcih I think is awesome! Most of my recruiting experience has been done through universities and campus events, and she continued to say that's not what they're looking for in terms of applicants. Which obviously, I understood but why set an interview with me then??? This interview just made no sense to me and I was very overdressed. Lastly, the benefits at this company sounds horrible! Your employees deserve better! Offer a "decent" benefits package. Towards the end, I was in shock that I didn't even ask any questions, I just wanted to leave. I haven't heard back after a day, and I have no doubt I didn't get the job, which is fine, but this HR department definitely needs to take employee and applicant suggestions to provide a better service.
