Chief Operating Officer - Operations Manager Interview

      20 Dec 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Kansas City, MO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Midland Radio (Kansas City, MO) in Oct 2014

      Interview

I interviewed for this job several years ago and it was not easily forgotten. I remember arriving on-time - actually early - and waiting in the lobby for a long, long time. I could hear the meeting going on in the conference room that was holding up my interview. Finally, at least 15-20 minutes late, I was ushered into the President's office to speak with him. After 10-15 minutes of conversation and questions, the other person who was supposed to join us, did so. He was the son of the owner (in his 30s) and a total, arrogant jerk. I had already been warned about him by the recruiter who had called me for the interview and wow, he wasn't joking. I can't begin to describe all of the dumb things he said and questions he asked. Needless to say, I didn't get a second interview and wasn't really disappointed. I was not right for that job or that company.
