I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Middleton International School (Singapore) in Jun 2025
Interview
Attended 2 rounds of interviews. One with the HR and one with the Principal. Getting to the school is like walking in a maze. I just could not find the entrance, the school is not near any mrt stations or bus-stops. Anyway, the HR round was fine. The Principal did not consider local teaching experience and emphasised on the need for student-directed learning where teachers do not teacher anything and only guide student during lessons. While I thought the principal's vision of the teaching and learning was sound, I found the school's communication with me post interview strange. One day I got a sudden message from the HR asking if I was still available for the role. And while I expressed interest, there was no response immediately. After checking a few days later, I was told I was not shortlisted. This was quite puzzling as I wonder why the school would ask me if I was still available in the first place. The principal promised me that the interview results would be made known 3 weeks after interview but I never heard back. Initially the school kept buying time asked me to wait. In the end they rejected without any reason. Anyway, they could have invited me for a demo lesson to find out how I will actually conduct lessons instead of basing their decision on my interview performance. In any case, this school ghosts candidates.

Question 1
How would you get students to discover that a bottle of water is in a perfectly competitive market. How would you deal with students who engage in self-harm?
