The process spanned 3 months in this order: HR call, HM, Assessment, Team, and Managing Partner. Overall, it was a fair but lengthy process. They do a good job vetting candidates before hiring.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself/walk me through your resume
This was, without question, the most unprofessional and unnecessarily convoluted interview process I have ever experienced. The number of interview rounds for a role that didn’t warrant such was baffling. Communication was abysmal—weeks would pass without updates unless I followed up repeatedly with multiple people. Emails often failed to go through, and I felt like an afterthought throughout the process.
One interviewer’s demeanor was disrespectful, barely acknowledging me and even asking what position they were supposed to be interviewing me for. I was taken aback when they drily questioned whether I had graduated college since having multiple internships listed on my resume.
After months of interviews, projects, calls, and in-person meetings spanning an almost four-month trial period, I was ultimately not offered the position. The entire experience was riddled with red flags—lies, poor communication, and a blatant lack of professionalism. A total headache from start to finish.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at MiddleGround Capital (Lexington-Fayette, KY)
Interview
The interview process was fairly standard. Mainly focused on culture. Some technical aspects as well. I first spoke with HR and then a few members of the respective BD team. Also met with other team members (ESG, etc)
