I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Microsoft in Sept 2020
Interview
An internal recruiter contacted me regarding a position, and we scheduled a phone interview.
The specific role that she contacted me about required experience with Azure, which I don't have, so it wasn't a good fit. Neither my resume or Linkedin profile mentions Azure, so I don't know why she contacted me for this position in the first place. I guess my profile popped up in a keyword search and she was too lazy to read it in detail. Or maybe she has an activity quota to meet.
However, she did say that there are other AE positions that I would be a good fit for, and she asked me to complete pre-screen questions that she forwarded to my email. There were 17 questions that covered topics related to technology and sales experience and expertise, as well as HR questions related to travel expectations, citizenship, etc. It took about an hour to complete.
I submitted my responses and haven't heard a thing about the positions that are supposedly a good fit. The recruiter hasn't responded to a follow up email.
This recruiter is very pleasant, positive, and raises expectations. But like most recruiters, this is phony and she is a time waster. Common courtesy and professionalism is a one street. Expected from you, but not reciprocated by them.

Question 1
Tell me about any experience you have working with external customers and in influencing business decisions.
The entire experience was an unexpectedly long and exhausting process, involving far too many repetitive rounds, and ultimately left me feeling frustrated. Based on everything, I would not recommend it
It was quite good and seamless. I didn't have any difficulties, the interviewer was great and the overall experience is something I would definitely recommend to each and everyone of you.
