I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Microsoft (Redmond, WA)
Interview
Contacted by a recruiter after a friend at Microsoft sent my resume around.
First a phone interview with the recruiter where she asked simple questions about my current job and then some basic technical questions (what's XAML).
I then got a phone screen with a SDET where I was able to ask a little bit more about the job and the team. She then asked me an algorithm question and how to test it.
The recruiter contacted me some days later asking me to come for an on-site interview.
The interview went from 10AM to 6PM and I met 5 people (at first you're set-up for 3 interviews but if you perform good they tell you that you need to meet someone else).
They asked me some algorithm questions and almost no test questions,
I got an nice offer two days later.
Expect technical deep dives, coding challenges, and problem-solving scenarios. Questions will probe your knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design, assessing your ability to build robust systems. yes yus yes
