The scheduling was very bad. I had to email back and forth more than 2 people and received the result from a third person.
I went for a full day interview and it wasn't the typical/best series of interviews I have been to. From 10am to 5pm I had "5" technical interviews. All coding challenges.
The first interview was a design question with a project manager. He was understanding and open to explanation.
Second one was sort of strange. The question was very abstract and my interviewer didn't help with anything while I asked a few questions. They didn't even make any face expression or asked me a single question to clarify what I did.
Third interview felt like dealing with a bored/annoyed teenager. I designed what they asked for then was told to expand it... I expanded the solution and then got asked again to expand it more and more and more. It felt like the interviewer didn't have more questions and were pushing through just to kill an hour time.
Fourth interview was with a Hacker. They asked me to solve a string manipulation problem. I did in two minutes then left the question and started talking about encryption and decryption. I was asked things I wouldn't expect at all from a 1 year experienced person. All I can say is that it was ridiculous.
Fifth interview was with a manager who has worked for 27 years at MSFT. He asked me about a string manipulation again. I didn't solve it efficiently and was so tired since it was my 5th interview for god sake!
I received a call 4 days later saying we decided to move with someone else.
