      Talent Sourcer Interview

      21 May 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Microsoft in Jun 2010

      Interview

The process was handled quite smoothly. Firstly there was a phone screen setting the initial expectations and providing boths sides with crucial information then I attended three face to face interviews with the Recruitment Manager, Talent Acquisition Lead and HR Business Partner ( there was no HRD at the time). I must say that there were no communication issues and the offer was extended professionally. The interview questions were strictly connected with my previous experience, mouch of it stressing the numbers results and achievements in my previous roles regarding my recruiter/sourcer experience. There was also a competency based interview checking my fit against the Microsoft Competencies, Values and team fit.

      Question 1

What are your weak points - it is always the most difficult question

      Question 2

The demanding part can be the detailed questions on numbers and timeframes of recruitment processes in different stages of your experience

      Talent Sourcer Interview

      13 May 2021
      Anonymous employee
      Redmond, WA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Microsoft (Redmond, WA) in Apr 2021

      Interview

I applied and 2 months later I was contacted by the recruiter. There was one recruiter phone screen, then a virtual onsite interview with 4 interviewers lasting 45 minutes each.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Behavioral questions based on competencies. Be sure to use the STAR(R) method. Also use the interview prep materials extensively and come up with a few strong situations/examples for each competency. Think about situations where you were both successful and unsuccessful (and how you grew from the unsuccessful situations). Microsoft values honesty and knows no one is perfect. They're looking for how you grew from those experiences. All questions were behavioral questions about customer focus, relationship building, persuading/influencing without authority, collaboration, adaptability, advising the business, personal/professional growth, supporting diversity and inclusion...there's more info about this in the interview prep materials and on the careers page.
