      Billing Specialist Interview

      24 Feb 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at MercyOne

      Interview

Phone screen with HR reviewing resume and basically reading you a job description and asking if you're still interested. In-person interview with manager and supervisor. Contacted again by HR and asked for references, etc. I was *required* to furnish PROOF of my employment history (paystubs, W2s, or a letter from previous employer) dating back 14 YEARS. The longest state or even federal record retention requirement is 7 years (and IA employment records are only 3-4 years), so they were asking for something that was totally ridiculous and unreasonable. And this was for an entry level billing position with no special training, certification, or licensing required.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Generic, uninventive interview questions that people ask more out of habit than because they care about the responses.
