      Director Interview

      26 Feb 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at MediaMath

      Interview

I was reached out to by a recruiter multiple times to interview. After multiple rounds of phone screens, and multiple rounds of projects, I waited to hear to hear back from the recruiter. I waited, and waited, and finally about 2 weeks after the interview, I reached out, and, the recruiter said they decided to go another way without any feedback. They should at the very least have the common courtesy to communicate in a timely fashion whether you made it to the next round or not. Very poor coordination and communication in their recruiting department!

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at MediaMath (New York, NY)

      Interview

I was recently offered a position at MediaMath and gladly accepted. The interview process was extremely well organized and efficient. I was given step by step instructions for each interview that was set up. I had 2 video interviews, and then was asked to come in for a 3 hour in-person which included a presentation session. The interviewers were extremely friendly and asked just the right questions. I felt comfortable and left with a positive mentality each time.

      Director Interview

      2 Dec 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at MediaMath (San Francisco, CA) in May 2016

      Interview

Was approached 18 months ago by a recruiter, they were in the process of hiring for two director roles and possible VP for their account team. Long story short, they trailed me along for more than 4 months stating they wanted me to meet with more folks. Found out they never hired for any of the positions due to lack of funding (this was from a former employee I knew who was also trying to hire for their team). After the long dance of interviews, they decided to promote from within and no one reached out to me to let me know the position was filled (the recruiter thought the hiring manager had reached out and vice versa!) The most laughable thing is I was contacted again for a director position (and so were some of my colleagues) about a month ago, again the same recruiter who had contacted me previously said the roles they were trying to fill was not set in stone yet — again laughable and trying to keep someone warm with possibly not offering them anything. In hindsight, it truly seemed like Mediamath was looking for competitive intelligence in a very shady way by doing this. Horrible experience and a sinking ship I would not want to associate myself with!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How would you explain Mediamath’s business model to a relative or in layman’s terms?
