      Interview

I applied to Medallia through an employee referral and one month later was contacted by an HR rep. The whole interview process took over 3 months. Although the process was very long and comprehensive, I couldn't be happier with the results. The first round consisted of a short convo with the HR rep where she asked basic questions about my past experiences and resume. I was immediately brought to the next round at the conclusion of the phone call, where I was scheduled to talk with an analyst of the team I'd be working for. He asked mostly basic questions about my experience and technical background. Next, I was invited to the challenge round, where I had to complete two separate assignments within 24 hours. While the prompt was extremely vague, they allow you to speak with an analyst for one hour at the beginning of the 24 hour time period to discuss any initial questions about the prompt. The final round consisted of three separate interviews, two with members of the Professional Services team and the other being a cultural" or "Medallian" interview. Every single person I interviewed with throughout the process was extremely transparent, let alone a delight to speak with. Each person expressed their love for the company, the company's culture, and the people they work with. The HR rep was extremely helpful throughout the process, letting me know when decisions from each round would be made and apologizing when they weren't sent on time. After receiving the offer, she discussed with me what credentials of mine guided them to make their decision and even asked for feedback on my end (of which I had nothing bad to say since the entire process was nothing but a pleasure!)

      Interview

1st Screening by HR followed by 4 interviews in which I was asked almost the same questions, not coordinated at all… they had me go through those interviews to then tell me that the position didn’t aligned with my background? Very disappointed… you don’t let someone go through 4 interviews after a screening and tell them that their background doesn’t align with the job description. There was a noticeable lack of communication in recruiting and the interviewers.

      Professional Services Analyst Interview

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Medallia

      Interview

Get ready for a 2 month long interview process. Medallia has a interview process that consists of 5-6 video conference calls with different people in the organization. After the 1st interview with HR, you will complete a video call with an employee and then receive the 24 hour Medallia challenge. The challenge itself isn't too challenging but more tedious to do. It consists of an excel challenge and creating a specifications document. While the interview process is lengthy, I enjoyed speaking and learning about the company and people working there. Many of them were there before Medallia IPO-ed. Some improvements to suggest: While I had a good time, other candidates may have trouble with their current workplace. I was able to do work from home once a week and was able to accommodate the interview process. Others, may have to take personal days.. and with 6(!) interviews that's asking a lot. I reached the last round and did not pass, which was surprising as I passed with the other 5 interviewees! I was never notified that I didn't pass and came to my own conclusion a month later. If candidates are investing this much time, it would be beneficial to provide some feedback or even a generic rejection email.

      Professional Services Analyst Interview

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Medallia (San Mateo, CA) in Jun 2019

      Interview

I arrived 30 minutes early. My first interviewer was 15 minutes late to fetch me from the lobby. Upon meeting and on our way upstairs, he referenced the recent "big news" regarding Medallia, of which I wasn't familiar with, so I asked. Rather than telling me, he told me to "Google it" while he caught up on some work emails, which caught me off guard considering we were already behind schedule and made me feel kind of stupid regardless of having done an ample amount of research on the company and its software beforehand. My second interviewer was nice and gave me a challenging and thorough interview. I asked for feedback at the end of the interview and she was very candid with me. I found some of her feedback constructive, although her critique of my resume slightly confused me considering they were the ones to reach out to me in the first place.
