      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at McMaster-Carr in Aug 2020

      Interview

I applied on the company's website and was contacted the next day for an interview. I then had a 30 minute phone screen with one of the corporate recruiters. The phone screen went well & the next day I got an email inviting me to have a Superday of interviews the following week. 1 hour before my first interview on my Superday, my recruiter texts me telling me that the firt interviewer is out sick and will need to reschedule for tomorrow. I then get a call from the first interviewer an hour later saying that he is waiting on me. My recruiter messed up who was out sick on my Superday, the second interviewer was actually out sick. (I had to find all this out on my own). It really messed me up. After my Superday & the makeup interview the next day, I wait 2 weeks to hear a response from the recruiter. I hear nothing after 2 weeks (I was told they'd get back to me in a few days). I then send a follow up email asking what the status of my application was. 30 minutes later I get an automated email from their recruiting sytem saying that I didn't get the job. The whole recruiting process was classless. The recruiter messes up my Superday & then after 5 hours of interviewing, they forget to send me an update on my application. I have to send an email to the recruiter to get an automated message. This is probably a sign of how the company treats it's own employee's. I wish everyone the best with this company, but, they really left a bad impression on me. I wont be reapplying to this place. Good luck to the to the applicants and to McMaster-Carr, they clearly need to learn how to treat people better.

      Interview

Make sure to ask lots of questions. It is very easy to be "duped" into thinking that you are doing well, but you have absolutely no idea. Seems like an amazing gig, and they definitely want to hear you stress and talk about the work-life balance.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at McMaster-Carr (Cleveland, OH)

      Interview

They flew me out for it and put me up in a hotel and everything. Then the interview was a full day - someone was assigned to greet me, give a tour, eat lunch, and three different interviews getting more and more senior throughout the day. Lots of questions for examples of times when I … and pulled straight from the prep they send.

We noticed a trend that we are sending a lot of calls to different departments - how would you suggest fixing this?
