I got contacted through Monster.com by a recruiter. She talked to me briefly on the phone about my interests, desire for the job, etc. I then got offered to interview on-site, where I spoke to the recruiter, as well as three members of the staff who were in the same department/section of the company. The recruiter, as well as the first two members of the staff, were pleasant and appeared to be interested in my (somewhat) unorthodox educational background. The third interviewer was a little brusque and seemed dismissive, though this may have just been some personality tics (he was just awkward). Each of the interviewers asked roughly the same questions, about my educational background, my experiences in previous internships, how I would function with the more rote, data-related work for this position, etc. I thought I did reasonably well in my interviews. I did *not* do my research on the company, which I'm sure looked poorly -- I was asked by the HR recruiter how much I knew about McMaster-Carr, and I said something like, "Not very much."
Alas! The job pays well, and the people seemed friendly. Good experience to interview with several people in succession. Be more prepared than me!
