After an initial phone call with the HR person I got several code challenges to resolve without a time limit. I resolved them using the best approach for their requirements and sent them back with extensive documentation about the problem, the solution and the strategy chosen to resolve it. After few days the HR person told me the technical manager didn't want to continue with my application, and when asked for feedback about my code implementation she said she will ask the manager and get back to me. But she never did. I don't think is a good recruiting practice to drop technical applications after a code challenge without providing at least a very basic feedback. Code challenges take several hours to research, code, test and document, and you would expect at least the courtesy of the reviewer to follow up with you.

Phone screen with the recruiter then an onsite with the team (the 3 co founders), their EA, and a wrap up with the recruiter. Overall smooth process - highly enjoyed meeting the team and had timing been different, would've loved for the chance to work with them.
- There were a few basic computer literacy questions.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Mayfield Robotics (New York, NY)
Gave a coding question, I solved it and sent it back and recruiter said they dont want to move forward. I asked her what is the reason and she never get back to me. If they dont give enough feedback to the candidate who spent time doing the problem how would the candidate know where he went wrong and why he is rejected.
- DP problem

This review is in regards to an interview at Mayfield. I met with various members of the team. At first I met with the COO and the Operations Manager, both very nice. We had easy casual conversations. We went over benefits and company culture which seem on par with tech startups. After, I presented a deck with the team I would be working closest with. During my presentation some members made remarks and jokes amongst themselves that interrupted my presentation. I understand it was a casual presentation but I've never experienced something like that before and it really threw me off. I brushed it aside before meeting with the team members individually. Overall the one on one conversations were fairly relaxed and conversational, everyone was very nice until I met with one team member who asked “Checking to see if you’re interested in this or if you think it’s stupid?”. I was shocked a team member asked me this. I personally thought I was engaged in the conversations and by no means think the company/product is "stupid". I do see the company having potential as it further develops but my interview was unpleasant considering the team review and interaction with one specific team member. The Operations Manager got back to me within less than a week's time to let me know they wouldn't proceed which I appreciated.
- Mostly asked about background and questions pertaining to culture fit.

I applied for the position via Craiglist. I was then interviewed via phone by the People Operations/HR person. She was very nice. I was asked to come in and interview with 5 people (This included the Operations/HR person). It was a block of 2.5-3 hours. I interviewed with the Operations/HR person, the Executive Assistant, and the COO. After meeting with the COO I was told by the HR person that CEO couldn't get out of a phone call and the Office Manager was not answering her phone. I figured things come up and I had really enjoyed getting to know everyone thus far. She said a call would be setup with the other two people to finish the interview process. Unfortunately I received a declination the very next day without ever receiving the chance to finish the interview process. This did not sit well with me since the CEO himself says he meets with all candidates seeking to work for their company. I was excited to have the opportunity to tell the CEO why I think I'd be a good fit and to share my passion for the industry. It just left a bad feeling to have blocked out that time to interview and then not be given that chance to finish the process. I feel whether you're interviewing to mop the floors or build the product...everyone should be treated equally. I know the CEO's time is valuable but so is the time of those seeking employment. I was expecting to finish the process offered to me before receiving a declination. The people I met were very nice but the execution of it all just wasn't good in the end.
