I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Matrix IBS (Columbia, SC) in Mar 2015
Interview
First step in the process is i was contacted by a recruiter from Perceptive Recruiting. Went over some basic information of what was on my resume, from there advised me that they would reach out to the operations manager and gave me a heads up that they were very blunt and didn't like to waste peoples time
Second Step, the operations manager gave me a call while he was driving down the road, was very hard to understand what he was saying as there was tons of wind noise, gave me a speech about the expectation of working 60+ hours, on average 45 hours a week over the course of the year, and went on to ask me some basic technical questions just feeling out what i have done, what i know how to do, and what i want to do. Provided him this information and from there i was scheduled for an all day in person interview. Told me that they are very straight shooters and didn't like to waste peoples time and could be very blunt.
Third Step, came in for an all day interview which went over the same information that i provided in the first two steps and asked a little bit more about me and what i did for fun out side of work and provided me the opportunity to ask questions about the company and culture, i was cut short about half way through the full day interview because they didn't feel i had enough experience in certain tasks that are very easily done but just didn't have experience in a enterprise environment. Which is fine if that's not what they were looking for however i clearly stated this information in the first two steps. This is very disappointing as i spent most of my day in this interview and traveling to the interview and back home essentially wasting my time when i gave them the respect of not wasting theirs giving them the same information previously.
Overall very negative experience with this companies interview process, it is very unorthodox and does not value candidates time in its current state. I can't speak to what the company is to work for but everyone i spoke to seemed nice.
