The Interview process started with a call from Hiring Manager. He started my giving an introduction about the company and job description. It is mainly an application support job for the first 2 years. Later on we can switch over to different department of our choice. He asked few behavioral questions and on academic projects. Then questions were based on soft skills.. What all conflicts did you encounter when working with the previous company?
How did you handle multitasking and so on? Then he scheduled me a technical interview after 10 days and we have to choose one subject of our choice: Control Engineering/DSP/Embedded.. I chose DSP.. One prog language among C/C++/JAVA..I chose C and Linear Algebra, Calculus and MATLAB..
After ten days, as scheduled I got call for the technical interview..I had read reviews in glassdoor which were very helpful.. She started with questions on Signals involving convolution, LTI, memoryless, linear, causality.. Even questions were asked on Z transform, ROCs, Fourier Series, Fourier Transforms, FIR and IIR filters.. She took this for almost 20 mins..Then she moved to mathematics.. Eigen values, eigen vectors, differentiation, integration, L'hospitals rule, Definite and indefinite integrals, applications of differentiation and integration. different types of matrices ( SIngular, Identity, Symmetric and so on) dot product, cross product etc.
The programming part was pretty easy.. Difference between i++ and ++i.. Static, global and local variables, what is a pointer? void and null pointers, basic array questions, #define, typedef..I felt they will ask the same set of questions for everyone..
Finally at the end, she started with questions on matlab.. difference b/w a*b and a.*b,dot product, cross product in matlab, diffrnec b/w function and scripts, mex functions, workspace, current directory, cell array, transpose, determinant, datatypes in matlab.. I almost answered 80% of the questions correctly and was very confident throughout the interview..If you dont know the answer also, try explaining logic atleast..I think the cut off is very high.. So try to be crisp and clear with the answers what you know..After seeing the career link, got to know that "Match not ideal at this time". But the interview was really refreshing and I got a chance to brush up my basics.
