Interview
First HR interview: The recruiter did not show up at the scheduled time and rescheduled the meeting three times in the same day.
Online assessment: I applied for a Kotlin Developer position but was sent a Java test instead. I completed it anyway and passed. I informed HR about the mismatch, and their response was that I had passed the test and the next step would be an interview with two senior developers.
Technical interview: The two senior developers presented the role, which turned out to be for a Platform Engineer using Java, TypeScript, and Go. I told them that I had applied for a Kotlin position, and they confirmed that they do not use Kotlin at all. Unsurprisingly, the interview did not go well, as their tech stack had nothing to do with mine.
Follow-up: I emailed HR again, explaining that I had applied for a Kotlin position and that the technical interview was unrelated to the role I had applied for. Their response was: "they don't think my experience is enough for the company". Obviously not, if you arrange an interview for a position that has nothing to do with my background.
Conclusion: A total lack of organization and alignment between HR and the technical team. The process lacked clarity from the start and ended up being a waste of time for both sides.
