The process progressed to the final round despite a clear mismatch between how questions were posed and how answers were evaluated. Several technical questions were underspecified. Attempts to clarify assumptions or constraints were treated negatively rather than used to align on the problem. When answers did not match unspoken expectations, the discussion became adversarial instead of exploratory. Evaluation favored prior fintech integration pattern familiarity over reasoning, problem framing, or explicit discussion of trade-offs. Candidates without deep fintech integration background should clarify expectations early.
