I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at MaintainX in Aug 2025
Interview
The interview process has 5 phases. I went through the first 4: HR interview, hiring manager interview, take-home assignment, and a technical panel (the last step would have been the CEO interview).
In the earlier stages, I received encouraging feedback on my answers, experience, and assignment solution. However, during the technical panel, I faced significant challenges connecting with the group. The overall interaction felt disengaged and somewhat dismissive, which contrasted with my prior experience in the process.
I strongly recommend that the company include women in technical panels, not just in HR. The lack of diversity was noticeable and contributed to what felt like a biased experience. From the beginning of the panel, it seemed as though a decision had already been made, and attempts to engage were ineffective.
I also asked whether I was being evaluated for an intermediate, senior, or lead role, but never received a clear answer. The only feedback I eventually received was: 'due to the results not being aligned with our role requirements.' However, the role requirements were never clearly defined, and I was not informed of which level I was being assessed for.
