I was contacted by HR staff at this company to schedule an interview with the hiring manager. I took time off work in the morning and made accommodations to be able to schedule the phone interview, but the manager never called me. I initially was a little put off, but recognized that things come up sometimes, so I reached out to the HR employee I had been emailing with to check in and see if the interview could be rescheduled. Not only did I not receive a formal response from this employee, but the following day I was sent the classic “I am sorry we are moving on to other candidates…” email that is sent by a robot most likely. I am more than prepared to accept a rejection after a job application/interview, but I find it completely unprofessional to schedule an interview with me and never call or contact me to explain why the interview did not take place.
