The entire interview process was poorly managed. From the beginning, I had clearly communicated my salary expectations to the recruiter, and they assured me that they could meet them.
During the interview process, I was assessed for a position at a well-known on-demand delivery platform in India.
The process consisted of three rounds:
1. Coding round where medium-level coding questions were asked.
2. LLD round focused on the driver payout system and various delivery offers.
3. HM round that covered both coding and basic database/redis concepts and current projects discussion.
Overall, the interview experience was positive.
However, when it came to discussing salary, the recruiter informed me that they could only offer a maximum of X amount, while my initial expected compensation was X + Y. Despite this discrepancy, I remained cooperative and indicated that I would accept at least X amount.
Unfortunately, the recruiters then ceased responding to calls and emails, even though they had been proactive in scheduling the interviews. After a week, the recruiter finally picked up the call and informed me that they couldn't provide even X amount.
It feels like they treated wasting a candidate's time as a joke. All the efforts I put into the process ended up being futile. Despite clearly communicating my expectations from the start, they still chose to waste my time.
My advice to the company would be that if you don't have the budget, please refrain from wasting candidates' time
