I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Macy's in Aug 2010
Interview
My interview at this location was overall negative. I came in for an interview at two in the afternoon and had alerted people working there that I came in for my interview. After asking three people, who did not get the manager as they said they would, my interview started at 2:15. My interviewer asked questions directly from a packet and I realized that I wasn't being interviewed for the position I had applied for. However, the jobs didn't differ much. At the end, she said I did great, but I was not sure if she was sincere. A week later, they let me know that I would not be working for them at this time. I believe that ultimately, my busy student schedule was not what they were looking for.

Question 1
How important do you think socializing is in the workplace?
Was interviewed for a seasonal position. Was told they have no seasonal positions, once they found out I was a college student. Made no sense to me quickly ended the interview.
The interview process was straightforward and fairly quick. It started with a phone interview from a recruiter or hiring representative who asked general questions about my background, availability, and interest in the role. The tone was professional but conversational, and the interviewer focused on making sure I could handle a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
I had one interview with the store manager and it lasted for about 45 minutes. The interview was all standard behavioral questions. I was offered the job on the spot.
