      Account Executive Interview

      12 Jan 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at MVF in Jan 2023

      Interview

Pros: Scheduling the interview was easy using calendly. The Recruiter was on time for screen. Cons: The recruiter was short/direct at best and rude at worst. I have talked with many recruiters over the years and this is the only time I'v had a negative experience. Maybe she was having an off day, but there was no rapport built, just questions fired right off the bat, she didnt seem to listen or be interested (had to repeat myself many times). I had done a ton of research of MVF and went over what I learned and was excited about, Instead of making it conversation, she went into a company pitch that was very robotic. The whole thing was just off and sadly, put a bad taste in my mouth for the company. To top it off, the recruiter never reached back out with an update on the process as she said she would. ADVICE: Remember that Interviews are a two-way street, treat others as you would want to be treated (give candidates an update). You can learn a lot about a candidate by having genuine conversations, there no need to grill and listening is important.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at MVF (Austin, TX) in Jan 2023

      Interview

I'll echo what the last person said about interviewing here. Dismissive and deceptive are the two key words that will stick in my mind when I think of MVF. First: the job ad was a bait and switch. When I apply for an Account Executive role, there's a level of quality that I'm looking to bring to the table, and expectations of what I'll be doing. They ask if I'm "open" to an Associate Account Executive role. To be perfectly clear, in their own words the internal job title for this is a Sales Development Representative -- a full step down from what I'm qualified for. Shady but I'm willing to do the interview if they can demonstrate to me that they can make the training worth my time and get me to the position I'm actually applying for quickly. The materials they give to review beforehand are amateurish and outdated, about 5 years old. From the research that I'm doing, their existing content to generate leads is likewise outdated and filled with not just formatting errors, but factual errors. They're misinforming their potential clients as part of the lead qualification process. Hardly the 'premium' service that they claim. The interviewer was brisk, bored, and does not give the sense that she'd be a good boss. Asked *no* questions about relevant experience. And a last crucial indicator. When asked if there was anything missing from her current team, she said no. When asked how a rep can go above and beyond, she answers she just wanted reliability. In sales? In tech? How incredibly unprepared. Compensation target is significantly below average in Austin, by the way. This may be a decent first job to get your foot in the door out of college. But be aware that they're likely churning through you like numbers and I'd be intensely skeptical about any level of growth in the company.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at MVF in Nov 2022

      Interview

Super long- very detailed, interview process. Went through 4 interviews with no luck sadly. Rely heavily on research of the company etc. I went in “overly prepared” and it didn’t work out.
