      Curriculum Writer Interview

      16 Jun 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at MGT

      Interview

After getting screened, I was sent the following email: Step 1: Candidate Questionnaire Please complete the questionnaire using the link Step 2: Performance Task After completing the form, if you are comfortable with the expected hours and salary range, we invite you to complete the attached performance task within 72 hours of receiving it. This task is designed to give you a better understanding of the role while allowing us to evaluate relevant skills. Next Steps: Once we have reviewed your performance task, our team will reach out regarding the next steps. Qualified candidates will receive an invitation to attend our upcoming Virtual Job Fair on June 17–18, where you'll have the opportunity to complete an interview with our team. ------ I decided not to move forward with the application. The role requires a 50-hour work week (which was not listed on the original application), and when the listed salary range is adjusted to account for that workload, it falls $20–30k below market rate for a comparable 40-hour position. Framing chronic overtime as "flexible" doesn't change the fact that applicants are being asked to absorb 10 uncompensated hours per week—hours that aren't reflected in the offer. This suggests whoever designed this posting is either significantly out of touch with current job market norms for this role or is looking to exploit an early-career applicant who won't push back.
