I interviewed for a Senior Insurance & Risk Manager position with M. Shapiro Real Estate Group. The first interview went extremely well — the hiring manager was professional, engaging, and expressed confidence that I would be moving forward to meet with the VP. I was genuinely excited about the opportunity and even took the time to prepare a detailed 90-day action plan in anticipation of the next interview.
Unfortunately, after being told I was advancing, I never received any follow-up communication. It’s been nearly two weeks with no update or acknowledgment, which was disappointing after such a positive start. I understand that hiring processes can take time, but timely and transparent communication — especially after confirming next steps — reflects how a company values its people and candidates.
Overall, the experience began on a high note and left a strong first impression, but the lack of follow-through created uncertainty. From my experience in corporate environments, consistent communication is often an early indicator of culture and leadership alignment. I hope this feedback helps improve the candidate experience moving forward.
