I was contacted initially by a recruiter at the company to discuss what I'm looking for with regards to the Android Engineer role. After 2 reschedules, I finally had an initial phone screen The call went well but I think there was a misalignment and miscommunication on the expectations and nature of the role. The job description mentioned an aspect of leadership in terms of the proffering improvement initiatives for the codebase, so I was a little surprised when the recruiter cut me off to note that perhaps I wasn't interested in the given role when I mentioned some of my long-term initiatives that aligned with a senior stack viewpoint. Due to a lot of time being spent on correcting that assertion, I could not ask the questions I wanted to ask and I was told I could send it in a follow-up email or wait till they follow-up with instructions for the next stage shortly. I elected to wait. However, after waiting for several days no email came and I decided to contact the recruiter and express my intentions to not wait any longer and move on. It's something I've seen mentioned in some other reviews here- Loom's recruiters have a rather off-putting habit of ghosting. I should also note that there was a slight feeling of going-through-the-motions on the call and it felt like the recruiter wasn't fully invested in talking to me.
