I applied for the position two to three days after the job posting. It was ten days later that I heard from the recruiter asking for an introduction call. We went through the call at the agreed time. The conversation was smooth and joyful. The recruiter went through the job requirements, of which I was overqualified. I was promised an interview with the hiring manager after two weeks of the hiring manager's annual leave.
After three weeks, I got a message from the recruiter saying the hiring manager has "someone specific in mind", which made me doubt that the position may be pre-decided or initially created for someone with a connection. The recruiter explained later “specific person” meant “specific profile”, not indicating any specific individual. My doubt could have been just a misunderstanding, but the circumstance is not 100% clear, yet.
I hope Logitech can prove me wrong, and I hope my ethnicity has nothing to do with the shadiness because there’s a certain level of fairness that people expect from a “world-class” company.
