      Technical Support Interview

      6 Jul 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Loadbalancer.org

      Interview

Overall, I cannot recommend interviewing with this company, mainly due to ghosting and disappointment after receiving so much positivity. Positives: 1. During the interviews, the interviewers were friendly, kind, and considerate. 2. My experience was noted and I was not given homework or expected to jump through unnecessary hoops. 3. I spoke to proper team leads and skilled employees; not HR staff. 4. Working at the company and the perks were sold very well. However, this caused me to lose focus applying at other companies (my own fault)! Negatives: 1. There was excessive waiting around between interviews. 2. I was told I would hear by a specific date, but ended up waiting long past that date. 3. Attempts at contact went unanswered. 4. Ultimately, I was ghosted (one of the worst things to do to a jobseeker). Details of other issues included: 1. The feedback during interviews was highly positive and complimentative; some of the best I've ever had. This made me truly believe I was a hair's width from getting the job. This was a huge disappointment and was not a basic 'misunderstanding'. 2. It appears the company is after a unicorn candidate, or just seems to be okay with hanging around for other reasons. This company has been advertising the same jobs for months and apparently a lot of people have applied. I would encourage the company to fix this, as it doesn't look good if candidates might waste time applying. 3. The company name is too closely tied to one service and should probably be changed regardless of brand identity. Naming your business after just one service can limit long-term appeal and ability to diversify, especially when other companies also offer your primary services. This was a huge issue for me. 4. Requests for salary expectations were raised despite the fact the job listing clearly shows the salary range. Due to the ghosting, I will not be considering this company in the future. If they respond now I would question why they felt replying privately and professionally was not worth their time.

I'm very sorry, this should never have happened. We discussed internally and one of our senior managers confessed that he was probably the guilty party and has promissed to do better. We've also moved all recruiting to a single platform and assigned an individual to check that process is being followed. Once again - very sorry.
