      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Livewire Markets (Sydney) in Oct 2023

      Interview

6 stage Interview Process: - 30min video call with recruiter - 1hr video call with manager (Head of Partnerships) - 2hr psychometric testing - 1hr+ in person interview with manager and peer - 30min video call with co-founder - Reference checks I interviewed for the role of Partnerships Manager at Livewire in October 2023. Ultimately, we weren't able to come to an agreement with the compensation which was below market given the role of Relationship Manager is sales focused pay should be commensurate with these expectations. I was willing to take a significant pay-cut to join their team as I believe in the mission of the company and the future growth potential. However, they withdrew their offer during negotiation after learning about my prior compensation. (V disappointing to be penalised for transparency and disclosure as it doesn't send the right message at all.) This is the first time in my career I've experienced this as a negotiation on the terms of the offer incl. compensation is to be expected. Especially in hiring a sales/account manager I would be wary of hiring someone who does not negotiate a favourable outcome... Whilst it was disappointing to experience the turn of events after a protracted hiring process, ultimately, I'm glad it didn't work out as I felt their decision making was too short-term focused and a knee jerk reaction. My feedback to Livewire would be to take a longer-term view to hiring and hire for quality and pay for experience. It's better to invest a bit more into quality candidates who can help you build your business. All it takes is one client deal to more than cover the premium.
