The recruiter was late and needed to reschedule to an hour later. Then, he called me when he was volunteering at his child’s school. Could hear constant noise in the background, and at one point he was speaking with his child and I thought it was to me. It’s unacceptable—and shows a complete lack of respect for the candidate when the company doesn’t set aside a dedicated time. He seemed distracted, and I didn’t get a good sense of anything about the company.
Second interview was very mediocre and boring. “Tell me about your experience” etc. The hiring manager asked me what could be done to improve the site? Don’t ask an experienced writer this question if you clearly didn’t want to hear the answer. Very poor experience.
Never heard back over a week later—after I had sent (2) emails to the recruiter. Called him—and I normally don’t do that kind of thing (but he had said to call if I ever had questions) and he told me I was not chosen—and I was fine with that. Then later that day got an automated “we passed on you” mail from LiveRamp.
Overall, a very substandard, poor-quality, and unprofessional experience.
