My first interview was on zoom, followed then by an in person interview with the owners and then followed by a practical trial for around 4 hours.
The interviews are easy and laid back, the dissapointment comes with the practical:
Firstly, be prepared to be there nice and early before 7am.
The owners then show you briefly around and what you have to do, and then you are required to clean out all of the kennels as quick as you can, and that was pretty much it. (Basically free labour, because you don't get paid). From a positive point of view, if you can't handle the worst part of the job, then atleast you'd know if it's the job for you. If you happen to be a bit of a slow learner, they sure know how to belittle you. But the way I see it, if they treat you like that on a trial, when they're supposed to try and "attract" employers, imagine working there permanently. After that experience, I knew that I couldn't work with these people long term.
Thankfully I never heard back, however, the least they could do is let you know, considering what you are required to do for nothing. I feel sorry for anyone who may have travelled a distance, and never heard back. So from my experience, there's actually nothing really positive to say as I didn't get the chance to meet any of the staff on site, the owner just came across as arrogant and unapproachable, however, the only good part of the experience was of course, the dogs and cats.
