My initial video interview with the recruiter was a very positive experience — she was respectful, charismatic, and made the conversation feel truly welcoming. I was also asked to answer a series of written questions — many of which had already been covered during the video interview. Then, I was presented with a “design test” that more closely resembled a full project. I have no problem with practical tests as part of a selection process — when they are focused, fair, and time-conscious. However, requesting a full-scale project without any form of compensation or guarantee of advancement feels, frankly, like a red flag. It raises serious concerns about how the company values the time and expertise of creative professionals. My hope is that Lilo Social will reconsider this approach and move toward a more balanced, respectful recruitment process that aligns with industry standards and respects candidates' boundaries.
