      Front End Developer Interview

      30 Oct 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Madrid
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Liferay (Madrid) in Oct 2019

      Interview

Definitely, Liferay doesn't know how to evaluate Front-End developers. They improvised my technical test and told I have only four hours to do it, later they sent the test to my email without asking confirmation. I did anyway but late, they told me they wanted to evaluate me in their offices. I went there and keep talking with 6 people about how React works and later they put me a new test about Liferay systems after I told them I don't know their systems. With this they gave me 2 pages of Java code without explaining what the code does...I was almost 5 hours being evaluated... Two weeks later I ask about my candidature, they answer I didn't pass because I'm not good at Java...I thought they were more serious but this process was a totally disaster and I feel they don't care at all about what a Front End does. If you're a Front End developer or want to do it, I don't recommend you to apply Liferay.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

Remote technical test about React, detect and fix 6 issues in just 4 hours

      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Liferay in Apr 2014

      Interview

I applied through University career fair and got a call after a week. The recruiter was very nice and friendly. I was asked about my background, programming skills, interests and what projects I have been working on. However, after I told him that I'm an international student, the interview seems to end there. The recruiter said that they wanted an intern with citizenship.
