Very straightforward process.
One person interviewed me and asked a few questions.
Did not last more than an hour, if that.
I had one interview and then an offer was made.
Telephone interview with someone from HR, followed by face to face with the store manager; both very friendly and professional interviews. The most important thing is that you're hardworking, so as long as you are, and have some evidence of this, everything will be good!

Question 1
Just what you'd expect: why us, why you, examples from previous jobs of transferrable skills for this one.
Phone interview and then in person interview. Pretty quick and easy and doesn’t take long to hear back. Questions are pretty standard like ‘why Lidl?’ and ‘what’s your favourite item we sell’. Also a few scenario based questions.
I applied online. I interviewed at Lidl (Cardiff, Wales) in Jan 2026
Interview
Really nice manager and chill atmosphere. Didn't ask me any scenario based questions or any that I had to provide a "star" like paragraph; more focused on how prepared/ committed/ able you are to do a lot of work.
