      Management Interview

      12 Apr 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Lidl in Apr 2017

      Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Lidl in Oct 2016

      Interview

I attended one of their hiring events in Augusta. Around 30 people. The day started with a brief introduction of the company and the team that was supervising the hiring and expansion in the US. The first part of the interview was a team exercise. We were divided in groups and every member of that group was given a role in the company. Had to read a dossier and make the right decisions concerning your department under a given budget, explain why and how would affect to the store performance. They give you some KPI's that you need to understand. Then, the second part was a role play exercise, you act like a store manager adressing a guest complaint. You have 5 minutes to read a note with a brief description of the situation, then they'll open the door and start the role play. During this 2 parts there is Lidl people observing and taking notes . After the second interview they provide lunch and this is where they made the cut. Only 6 of us made the cut to the last round and it was a more conventional interview, 2 Lidl HR representatives vs you. They showed a lot of manpower, they had around 14 people in they hiring event yet they provide little to no information to the candidates, even basic info. I didn't know if they were just hiring just for Augusta or some other stores they may open in the future. They lack a lot of touch. I can cope with a NO but not even sending a short email saying thanks for your time is very unprofessional. There was people coming from NC ans SC that drove almost 3 hours each way to get there.
